Henry explores “allowing” and the state of flow in this third talk from the October Original Love 3 virtual retreat. He examines the profound samadhi state that often arises in mindfulness meditation but contrasts it with authentic awakening.
Henry notes that we can focus too much on awakening and then miss a most important thing – the release of psychological material that allows us to become more of who we actually are – a whole, inclusive and settled human being. Awakening is illusive, aiming for it tends to push it away. We don’t need awakening for our practice to help us be wiser and kinder people.
