SUMMARY:2026 Ecodharma Sesshin with David Loy
DESCRIPTION:Ecodharma in the Polycrisis\n2026 Ecodharma Sesshin with David Loy\nMonday\, May 18th – Sunday\, May 24th \nRegister to Attend Here \nRegister for all three Ecodharma May retreats (commuter only) \n“We’ve got to build ecological awareness\, ecological practice into our fundamental way of understanding the Dharma today.” – David Loy \nBeing with the land – listening\, receiving\, being held\, with no agenda or plan – is an essential part of Ecodharma practice. When we can truly open and rest with the Earth and our other-than-human kin\, things shift. We can experience the nourishment that comes from nurturing this relationship that is fundamental to our wellbeing. \nIn this retreat\, we’ll devote six days to exactly this: deepening our relationship with the Earth\, directly experiencing what relationship to the land and Ecodharma practice has to offer in a time of multiple intersecting crises. We’ll turn to nature as our “wall”\, allowing our senses and heart-mind to open to the wisdom of the Earth.  \nIn addition to afternoons and a full day practicing outdoors\, Buddhist philosopher and Zen teacher David Loy will invite contemplations on what our extended practice might mean for how we live off the cushion. What does the Earth and Buddhist teachings have to teach us about living through – and engaging skillfully with – crisis and change?  \nThis retreat will infuse David’s experience leading Ecodharma retreats with some of the traditional Sanbo Zen sesshin structure. There will be extended opportunities to practice with the land\, to explore our oneness with other-than-human kin\, contend with the realities of our time\, and resource ourselves so we may re-enter the world with the clarity\, nourishment\, and focus needed to engage skillfully in support of the liberation of all beings. \nHear David expand on what Ecodharma practice is and why it’s so important by clicking the video below: \n \nThis sesshin is offered online and in-person. Weather permitting\, we will practice outside during parts of the weekend. If you’re joining us in-person\, please bring sun protection and other supports you find helpful for sitting outside during the week. We’ll have tarps available to place cushions on outside. If you’re joining us online\, you’re invited to find a place to sit outside wherever you’re calling in from (even simply opening a window can be a big support!). \nThis retreat is open to all and is part of our 2026 Ecodharma May.  \n∞ \nRegistration Options\nIn-Person\nShared Lodging: $1\,050\nBell Tent: $1\,050\nCamping (Bring your own gear/van): $900\nCommuting: $825 \nOnline\n$240 \n\nCheck out this special schedule designed to support you in crafting an at-home experience that invites in plenty of time on the land (where ever you are!): ONLINE EcoDharma Sesshin Schedule\nCheck out these tips for setting up your online ecodharma retreat: Setting Up for Success\n\nMembers receive 15% off.
