SUMMARY:Ring in the New Year with Mountain Cloud
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, December 31st | 5:30pm MT\nIn-person and online (Please RSVP below if you plan to join us in person) \nYou are invited to attend Mountain Cloud Zen Center’s annual New Year’s Eve sit. This special event will include meditation\, chanting\, ringing of the Densho bell\, and a community celebration. Newcomers\, sangha members\, and friends are all welcome\, on-site or online! \nThe Densho bell is traditionally rung 108 times during this sit. Our Guiding Teacher\, Valerie Forstman\, shares the meaning behind this tradition: \n“The ringing of the Densho bell 108 times signals the ringing out of our delusions. Yet\, to hear just one sound as it truly is opens our hearts and minds to the reality of who we truly are. The invitation is simply to listen as\, one by one\, we ring the bell. And perhaps\, in that ringing\, to hear the whole world sounding – beloved\, broken\, nothing excluded.” \nSchedule for the evening: \n\nDoors Open 5:00pm MT\nSitting begins at 5:30pm MT\nChanting and Bells at 6:30pm MT\nCommunity Celebration at 7:00pm MT – If you are able\, please bring finger food to share; tea provided\n\nTo attend online\, use the link and passcode below: \nZoom Link: sit.mountaincloud.org   Passcode: mountain22 \nPlease RSVP here if you plan to join us in person.
