Message from Henry: Peace

Practice is not just about clearing the mind, or tasting stillness, or coming into stillness. The point isn’t a negative: to be without thoughts or without movement.

The point is to know the peace, fulfillment, the gentle joy, the intrinsic wellbeing, that is here already, before we have done anything. The stillness, the quiet – these are merely the means for finding that.

    Hola Henry,
I enjoyed your teisho Thursday night. I agree with you that it is important to practice what T. Hanh refers to as engaged Buddhism; specifically, apply the precepts in a broader way, not just as an individual. Also, this message Peace resonated with me. Many thanks!

    Blessings, and stay safe.
    Rande
