Join us for meditation, dharma talks, discussion and demonstrations of calligraphy, all inspired by Master Dogen’s teachings.

This is a non residential retreat. However, for those coming from out of town, basic lodging is available in our guest room or in our cabins. If you would like to stay in one of our cabins, please let us know by emailing our registrar.  Only lunch will be provided, other meals are on your own.

Kazuaki Tanahashi, a Japanese-trained calligrapher, is the pioneer of the genre of “one stroke painting” as well as the creator of multicolor enso (Zen circles). His brushwork has been shown in solo exhibitions in galleries, museums, and universities all over the world. Tanahashi has edited several books of Dogen’s writings and is also the author of Brush Mind.
