RETREATS

Daylongs/Zazenkai 

June 1stAugust 3rdDecember 21st

Embark on a journey of longer sitting with our daylong meditation session that also provides space for deep practice between retreats. Beginning as early as 6 am and concluding at 3 pm, these events feature a dharma talk and occasionally a Q&A session. Accessible both onsite and online. Please note that meals are included and scholarships are available. Hosted on Saturdays and guided by Valerie Forstman.

Intro to Sesshin Retreat 

February 9-11thMay 10-12th September 6-8thOctober 19-21st

Delve into the essence of retreats with these weekend retreats, designed to unravel the profound benefits of this practice. Join us in exploring questions like: What can retreats do for our practice? How do they work? What unfolds when we grant silence and stillness the time to work on us? Discover the power of these moments on your path. Accessible both onsite and online, please note that meals are included and scholarships are available. Taking place from Friday evenings through Sunday Midday, these retreats feature an orientation, two talks, two Q&A sessions, extended sitting, and opportunities for one-on-one support or “dokusan”.

Weekend Sesshin Retreat 

April 12-14th July 12-14thNovember 8-10th

These weekend retreats provide an opportunity for us to taste deep silence and stillness between the work week. Hosted on Friday evening through Sunday Midday, these retreats include an orientation, two talks, extended sitting, and opportunities for 1-1 support/dokusan. Accessible both onsite and online. Please note that meals are included and scholarships are available.

Sesshin 6-Day Retreats

March 18-24 Spring Retreat June 17th- 22nd – North American Sanbo Zen Retreat led by Sanbo Zen Abbott, Yamada Ryoun Roshi September 23- 29 – Autumn Retreat ∞ December 2-8 – Rohatsu Sesshin celebrating Buddha’s awakening 

These extended retreats provide a deep dive into practice and teaching. Hosted on Monday Evening through Sunday Midday, these retreats include a daily talk, a few Q&As throughout the week, optional breakout discussions, extended sitting, and opportunities for 1-1 support/dokusan. Accessible both onsite and online. Please note that meals are included and scholarships are available.
