Daylong Sit / Zazenkai – Saturday April 22, 2023

Join Valerie Forstman and our Sangha
for a Zazenkai on Saturday April 22, 2023
A Zazenkai is a daylong sit which allows meditators to devote one full day to their practice. If you are new to meditation and have never done a retreat (single or multi-day), a Zazenkai is a great way to get your feet wet with longer periods of silent sitting practice. The day consists of sitting and walking meditation. One or two movement sessions, a dharmatalk from Valerie and Q&A in the afternoon.
Experienced practitioners benefit from these daylong retreats which deepen practice. Our first Zazenkai this year will be online only. This Zazenkai may be a hybrid event. Stay tuned. Registration should open by April 1.
Schedule (Mountain Time)
6-8am Sitting
8:45 Movement
9am-Noon Sit and dharma talk
Noon-1pm Lunch
1-3:30 Sit and Q&A
A little before 6am MT the retreat zoom room will open for silent sitting until 8am. If you’d rather, you may start your day with movement at 8:45 or sitting and a short introduction at 9am. The dharma talk will be at about 10am MT
If you have to miss part of the day, that’s fine. Attend as much of the day as you can – we know you are doing this retreat at home and things come up.
The dharma talk will be recorded and will be available on our YouTube Channel within two weeks.
Cost is $50 for the day, or an amount you can reasonably afford. Your support ensures that we can continue to offer our free events and low cost retreats.
Registration will open soon. We are finalizing details.
