Daylong Sit – Seeds of Practice, Saturday April 22
Join Valerie Forstman and our Sangha
for Seeds of Practice, a Zazenkai
on Saturday April 22, 2023
A Zazenkai is a daylong sit which allows meditators to devote one full day to their practice. If you are new to meditation and have never done a retreat (single or multi-day), a Zazenkai is a great way to get your feet wet with longer periods of silent sitting practice. The day consists of sitting and walking meditation. One or two movement sessions, a dharmatalk from Valerie and Q&A in the afternoon.
Experienced practitioners benefit from these daylong retreats which deepen practice. This Zazenkai will be a hybrid event. To register, scroll down to the registration form at the bottom of this page. If you choose to come in person, be sure to bring our own lunch. Food is not provided.
Schedule (Mountain Time)
9am-Noon Sit and dharma talk
1-3:30 Sit and Q&A
A little before 6am MT the zendo and the zoom room will open for silent sitting until 8am. If you’d rather, you may start your day with movement at 8:45 or sitting and a short introduction at 9am. The dharma talk will be at about 10am MT
For online participants in particular, if you have to miss part of the day, that’s fine. Attend as much of the day as you can – we know you are doing this retreat at home and things come up.
The dharma talk will be recorded and will be available on our YouTube Channel within two weeks.
Cost is $50 for the day. Your payment ensures that we can continue to offer our free events and low cost retreats. If you pay less then the suggested fee, it’s because you need financial support.
If you decide last minute (on Saturday morning) that you want to attend in person and have not registered you may just show up and pay when you get to Mountain Cloud by check or cash, or online on your own device,
