Intro to Zen class
Silent sitting meditation. Open to all.
Hosted in-person only
Intro to Zen is designed for beginners, whether you have little or a lot of meditation experience. It’s an opportunity to learn Sanbo Zen meditation forms, delve into the history of the lineage, and practice with others while getting introduced to our sangha community. Whether it’s your first time or you’re returning, we welcome all, as each session offers unique sharing experiences. Throughout theses sessions, you can:
- Understand others’ backgrounds and stories, fostering mutual learning through interaction
- Familiarize yourself with Zen etiquette, including approaches to seating and posture, as well as walking meditation tailored to your physical capabilities
- Explore the basics of regulating breath and stilling the mind
- Learn more about our Zen center and our operational procedures
