To find it, to taste it, is not about developing tremendous powers of concentration or mindfulness. Rather, it’s about releasing, and letting go, and letting things be as they are. It’s about relaxing and coming home to ourselves. It’s a beautiful and natural process, not some remarkable accomplishment open only to adepts.
This kind of shift in awareness — from narrow constricted focus to broad receptive openness — is something we can all do. It’s just a matter of being encouraged a little, and practicing it.
It’s not such a big deal, but the dividends can be huge, as we find our way home to a sense of belonging in the heart of this moment, in the heart of this world, and in the heart of our selves.
