Mountain Cloud Volunteer Training

Take a step toward deeper involvement and practice by volunteering with Mountain Cloud.

We’re looking for sangha members to fill a couple of roles in our community to help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for those who walk through our (virtual and physical) doors. These are great opportunities to deepen connection with the sangha and engage in a form of samu or work-practice.

This training will be focused on the roles we’re seeking to fill most immediately:

• Jiki (time-keeper)
• Han player
• Greeter

Led by Scott Thornton, the training for these roles includes learning how to orient new people to the Zendo, how to ring the bells for zazen and lead chanting, maintaining the altar, and playing the han to call the community to sitting.
