Wednesday, May 27th | 5:30–6:30 PM
Meditation begins at 5:30 pm MT, followed by the practice share and discussion at 6:00 pm MT
Led by Mary Ann Bennett, this evening features meditation, a brief practice share, an opportunity to ask questions, and a chance to share your experiences with practice. Mary Ann’s practice share is titled, “Becoming Fetchable: Stewarding Our Practice and Land.”
Awakening is an accident, and meditation makes us accident prone. It makes us fetchable, pliable, open, towards awakening. Cultivating our practice restores us back to our natural exquisite state of being. In a similar way, we can support and cultivate land to restore her natural absorbent, sponge-like state, helping to bring ecosystems back into balance.
These sessions are designed to enhance your practice and also provide an opportunity to connect with the local sangha community. This hybrid event is free and registration is not required. Please arrive five to ten minutes ahead of the scheduled time.

Mary Ann Bennett has been an active sangha member with Mountain Cloud since 2013, and Zen student for over 25 years. She has had the good fortune of studying under the guidance of four foundational Zen teachers: Joan Halifax from 2000–2007, Joan Sutherland 2007–2013, Henry Shukman 2013–2020, and Valerie Forstman 2020–present.
With a BFA in fine art, she has been a professional artist for most of her adult life, and a yoga instructor for over 26 years. She divides her time between an adobe cabin along the foothills of Santa Fe, and a tiny home on family land near Fredericksburg, TX. She is celebrating her newly conserved land in the Texas Hill Country, Protected Forever. The extensive conservation process has contributed to her deep interest in restoration ecology, learning ways to support the return of land to its natural balance. She hosts an Airbnb out of her casita in Santa Fe. She has one grown son, and an ongoing curious relationship with an elusive lucid dream practice!
