Wisdom Wednesday: “Painting and Practicing” with Gayle Alexander

Wednesday, September 9th  |  5:30–6:30 PM
Meditation begins at 5:30 pm MT, followed by the practice share and discussion at 6:00 pm MT

Led by Gayle Alexander, this evening features meditation, a brief practice share, an opportunity to ask questions, and a chance to share your experiences with practice.

These sessions are designed to enhance your practice and also provide an opportunity to connect with the local sangha community. This hybrid event is free and registration is not required. Please arrive five to ten minutes ahead of the scheduled time.

Gayle Alexander began practicing painting on a regular basis in 1978 and sitting with a Zen Center in 1984 in Cambridge Massachusetts.  Gayle studied art with many teachers at many schools through the years in San Francisco, New York City, and Boston.  Gayle has sat at a few different Zen Centers: Cambridge Zen Center, The Buddhist Association with Maureen Stuart (also Cambridge, Mass), Rochester Zen Center in Rochester New York, and now (since 2020) with Valerie at the Mountain Cloud Zen Center.
Along the way,  Gayle worked as a Special Needs Teacher for severely disabled children and adolescents while single parenting three children.  Gayle has lived in Madison Wisconsin with her husband, Doug White, for the last ten years.
