Wisdom Wednesday: “Zen and the Art of Rowing: My Path to Zen” with Terry Totemeier

Wednesday, October 14th | 5:30–6:30 PM
Meditation begins at 5:30 pm MT, followed by the practice share and discussion at 6:00 pm MT
Led by Terry Totemeier, this evening features meditation, a brief practice share, an opportunity to ask questions, and a chance to share your experiences with practice.
Terry will share how he was introduced to mindfulness practice, and ultimately Zen, in an unlikely place: his collegiate rowing team. This then expanded into other areas of Terry’s athletic and non-athletic life and ultimately to starting a more committed practice at Mountain Cloud.
These sessions are designed to enhance your practice and also provide an opportunity to connect with the local sangha community. This hybrid event is free and registration is not required. Please arrive five to ten minutes ahead of the scheduled time.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Terry Totemeier is a metallurgical engineer by training and profession and a lifelong endurance athlete (cross-country skiing, cycling, running, and rowing) by passion. Terry started meditation practice in college but really discovered Zen while in graduate school. It only took another 30 years before Terry joined an actual Zen group (Mountain Cloud) after reading Henry Shukman’s book One Blade of Grass. Terry now lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife Ann and cat Geoff.
