Wisdom Wednesday with Scott Thornton

Wednesday, April 24   |  5:30 –6:30 PM
Meditation begins at 5:30 pm MT, followed by the Dharma Talk (teisho) at 6:00 pm MT

This evening features meditation, a brief dharma talk, an opportunity to ask questions, and a chance to share your experiences with practice. These sessions are designed to enhance your practice and also provide an opportunity to connect with the local sangha community. This hybrid event is free and registration is not required. Please arrive five to ten minutes ahead of the scheduled time. To attend in person, please read and follow our COVID-19 Protocols for MCZC’s current policies on masks, vaccinations, and testing.

Scott Thornton is an Assistant Teacher in the Sanbo Zen lineage and the Residency Director at Mountain Cloud. You can see him at Mountain Cloud sitting in the zendo in the morning, leading the Book Study Wednesdays from 9-10, Intro Classes Sundays 10-11:15, and Intro Retreats. He also provides 1-1 practice guidance to members. Since 2000, he was a student of Ruben Habito Roshi at The Maria Kannon Zen Center in Dallas, TX. He currently directs the Mountain Cloud Residency Program.  He has been a Clinical Psychologist for 34 years. His first career was in Theater, and he is still an active singer/songwriter and performer.
