Introducing Bryan Baldwin, MCZC Executive Director

August 29, 2022

Santa Fe resident Bryan Baldwin is joining Mountain Cloud Zen Center as our new Executive Director. Bryan brings more than 25 years of progressive responsibility helping mission-driven organizations become more purposeful, focused, and strategic. He has extensive nonprofit management experience and most recently served as a senior administrator for a large public university in New England and concurrently led its private foundation. The earlier part of his career was spent working in the international diplomatic arena.

Bryan says, “I feel privileged to be a collaborative resource for the Spiritual Director, Guiding Teacher, Program Managers, the Board of Directors, and all members of the staff. In addition to providing strategic guidance and caring for the operation as a whole, my focus will be on supporting them in the critical work they do for the Sangha.”

Bryan earned a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Public Discourse from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Institute for Educational Management. He and his wife, Lisa Cushing Shaw, are avid travelers, lived abroad, and have visited more than 50 countries. Along with their sweet and whimsical dog Bruce, they now call Santa Fe their permanent home.

Bryan officially begins his duties on September 1st and has been meeting with the staff during the past week and learning the scope of Mountain Cloud programs and activities. If you would like to meet Bryan, he will be at our Saturday September 3 reception for Valerie and Scott….. and now for Bryan. The reception is at Mountain Cloud from 2:30-4:30 outdoors.
