October 31, 2016

img_1676On Saturday, October 22, Henry Shukman led a full house of Santa Fe public school educators in mindfulness exercises at Mountain Cloud.  They discussed the importance of having a “full cup” in order to be most effective with those they serve as educators and counselors. This half day workshop brought together two great oranizations, Mindful Education Santa Fe (MESF) and the Rio Grande Mindfulness Institute (RGMI), a project of Mountain Cloud Zen Center, John Braman, director

img_1683Guided meditation and walking meditation periods were punctuated with time to ask questions, offer thoughts and feedback, and discuss what’s next for mindful education in New Mexico. It looks like the two group are happy collaborating and will do more joint programs. Henry leads a short meditation at the MESF monthly meetings.

Our Mountain Cloud organization, RGMI, is gaining impressive momentum working with both public and private schools promoting and organizing Mindfulness in Education. The mission is to support mindful and meditative approaches to education for teachers, students, administrators and parents in in New Mexico and beyond.
