Two Poems from a Mountain Retreat, Dogen

July 25, 2017

In the stream,
Rushing past
To the dusty world,
My fleeting form
Casts no reflection.

The moon
Beyond the peak
Is not my companion on this hill,
For it must return
To cast its light on the floating world.
